This critical role also serves to bring to KPNW expertise in fee for service patient billing and collection to assist in facilitating needed changes in business processes around charge capture, point of service collections, billing, back end around charge capture, point of service collections, billing, back end collection, and policies and procedures surrounding patient financial assistance and charity care. The position is also critical to maintain full compliance with increasingly complex external fraud and abuse and other regulatory and legal risks associated with patient billing and collections. The Kaiser business model is moving rapidly to health plan products that require great sensitivity and expertise in the billing of charges and the collection of cash. The success of these products requires high performance in this position, including facilitating related processes in medical operations. As such, the Director will provide leadership in the ongoing management reporting, analysis of results and the promotion and development of reqments, coordination of benefit and third party liability billing and collection, electronic billing, data edit programs, reimbursement methodologies such as DRGs, APDRGs, APCs, ASCs. Strong financial knowledge in AR and reserve analysis, basic market analysis; staffing and financial reporting skills. Functional understanding of health care operations and physician group practices. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
