Job Description:
Responsibilities include: contract or project functions at the work site to ensure effectiveness of the project/contract and rate of progress; technical inspection of all work performed by contractors during all phases of the project/contract; inspection of water lines, sewer lines, grades on lagoon sites, ditching and trenching, water well drilling, pump installations; maintains a detailed and accurate daily log of all construction activity and keeps Project Engineer informed of progress. Performance of official duties may involve operation of a Government-owned vehicle; a valid State driver\'s license is required. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Candidates must have had experience as described below. Your description of work experience, level of responsibility, and accomplishments will be used to determine that you meet these requirements. NOTE: Applicants will be required to sign Optional Form 306, Declaration for Federal Employment, certifying to the accuracy and truthfulness of the information provided in their application. GS-09: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-8. Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Engineering aid or technician or surveying technician performing work directly related to construction. Construction inspector or construction representative responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, and insuring adherence to safety requirements. Supervisor of craftspersons, equipment operators, or mechanics engaged in construction work, provided that the experience involved responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting workmanship for adherence to such plans and specifications.
