Vehicle Endorsement. Failure to maintain the appropriate California Driver\'s License and/or endorsement(s) constitutes cause for termination from the class in accordance with Civil Service Rule 11.4. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.Certification Requirements : Some positions require that the incumbents possess a Water Distribution Operator Grade D2 certificate and must complete the appropriate amount of continuing education hours as required by the State of California to maintain the certification. Failure to obtain and maintain the appropriate credentials may constitute a cause for termination from this class in accordance with Civil Service Rule 11.4 and/or applicable bargaining unit agreement. Positions requiring a Water Distribution Grade D2 certificate:Incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Water Distribution Operator Grade D2 certificate issued by the State of California, Department of Health Services within one year after the date of appointment to this class. Physical Requirements Climbing up and down ladders and stand on a ladder while performing tasks with both hands. Wear respirators. Lift and carry heavy equipment and tools weighing up to 95 pounds. Load and unload equipment, materials, and pipes weighing up to 95 pounds. Must meet the rating capacity of equipment in order to perform duties of the position. Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch and reach above the shoulder.Note : Individuals who do not meet these physical requirements due to disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.Working Conditions Work in enclosed areas where the temperature may exceed 100 degrees F or reach lows below 20 degrees F. Enter, exit, and work in enclosed and confined spaces, such as 24 and 36-inch maintenance access holes.
