Job Description:
The selected candidate supervises enforcement of the County Codes related to the site development work including road, stormwater and stormdrain pipe and pond construction in accordance with established policies, rules and regulations of the Department; reviews inspections performed by inspectors for quality and consistency; attends, participates, or conducts training activities; confers with supervisor regarding issues related to the day-to-day operation of the unit; writes reports, conducts research, investigates and provides information to immediate supervisor and/or the Division Chief; conducts audits of inspection records; evaluates and prepares performance appraisals of subordinates; consults with Department/Division staff, other agencies, citizens, design professionals, builders/contractors and others involved in site development projects; and acts in the capacity of the Code Enforcement Officer in his/her absence. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience performing quality assurance, inspection and code enforcement work in construction projects, to include one (1) year of supervisory experience. Applicants must also present evidence of work experience that demonstrates the ability to: 1) plan, delegate, monitor and evaluate the work of construction inspection personnel; 2) read and interpret technical standards reports, engineering plans, code and construction materials test reports and 3) prepare and maintain project inspection documents and reports.
