Job Description:

Position requires direct interface with senior management and directors of projects, as well as the project management team for specific projects. This attorney will be focused on legal work arising from the construction of domestic power projects (greenfield and expansion/re-powering of existing projects). Primary responsibilities will include representing interests of project owner in regards to: (1) negotiating and drafting engineering, procurement and construction-related contracts for major turbine and boiler-based power projects, including major equipment and supply contracts; (2) managing and administering engineering, procurement and construction contracts during construction, including analyzing, responding to and resolving change order matters, contractor claims, and contractor and materialman liens and bonds; and (3) managing outside counsel engaged as necessary to support these tasks. This is not a litigation position, but candidates should expect to manage construction-related disputes, which may include litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution processes. NOTES: The company offers a competitive compensation package and excellent benefits. Requirements - J.D. and licensed to practice law for 8+ years with applicable law firm and/or legal department experience. - Experience with power plant construction is preferred, but will consider other industrial construction experience. - In addition to conventional fuels, wind and renewables experience a plus, but not necessary.
