Job Description:
Able to develop and execute objectives for self and others. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. * Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnel. * Provide support counsel and recommendations to organizational General Manager and Project Management. * Promote technical excellence within own section and support groups through design/technical review participation, lessons learned awareness and application, and technical innovation/growth fostering. * Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved. * Establish/modify/monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources of own section and support groups to meet/exceed business objectives and goals. * Effectively communicate technical and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally in the organization. * Ensure positive actions are taken to encourage growth, technical development, and improved interpersonal skills. * Implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the section/organization to customer/business needs. * Ensure compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented. Qualifications * Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science * At least 3 additional years of experience in a leadership role within an engineering environment Desired * Solid understanding of equipment function and maintenance requirements * CAD and NC programming experience * Working knowledge of estimating, proposals and the marketing function * In-depth background with tooling, fixtures and functional gauges.
