Job Description:
This is a contract to hire opportunity with a global energy company in Sugar Land.

Prepares and maintains the most complex engineering project design layouts, production drawings and other related documentation per ANSI standards completely and accurately considering methods of manufacture, tolerance, and their effect on related parts. Also, must be able to work with an in-house proprietary database.

Job Requirements:
Several years of on-the-job experience in mechanical computer aided design/drafting (CAD) system. Previous oil and gas experience is beneficial. High school graduate with two-year technical school certificate in mechanical drafting/design or equivalent.

- Must be proficient on ProEngineer Wildfire 2.0 or higher CAD software, 5000 hours of ProE experience is considered a minimum
- Possesses an understanding machine part manufacturing processes and techniques
- Must be able to conduct tolerance studies and be experienced in designing close tolerance machine parts
- Must be able to create a “bill of materials” and assembly process for machine designs
- Prepares the most complex original mechanical and average complexity electrical/electronic design layouts using the CAD system under minimal direction of the project engineer on a consistent and competent basis
- Directs the activities of the engineering documentation group on specific occasions as required by the group supervisor
- Maintains accurate status reports on all projects assigned.
