Job Description:
DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Software Engineer analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, modifies and tests embedded software for Ethernet networking products or analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, modifies and tests application software for the management of Ethernet based networking equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Product Line Management team to understand customer requirements
Translate customer requirements to design requirements for execution by development teams
Translate new industry standards into easy to understand format for development teams
Define system architecture including evaluation of enabling technologies, both hardware and software
Performing and assist in validation testing activities and ensure product delivered to validation team aligns with original customer request
Serve as technical reviewer of technical documentation in support of product development and release
Assist and lead in some early product demonstrations to customers
Assist and lead in some early product demonstrations to customers
Planning and directing advanced, innovative technical projects
Pursuing new technology for the company
Acting as role model and mentor to companys technical community
Assist in team staffing efforts
SKILLS:
Position may rarely require performing basic/advanced math, negotiations, or selling.
Position occasionally requires customer service, mentoring, presentations, and training.
Position frequently requires decision making, interpersonal skills, teamwork, creativity, reading/writing English and Spanish, and problem analysis.
