Job Description:
DESCRIPTION:
Design, develop, and support low-level software and infrastructure software to control intelligent devices in an optical switching product. Candidate will develop device driver software and hardware abstraction software for devices including framers, Virtual Concatenation Mappers, MAC controllers, and FPGAs. Also will develop drivers for BSP functions such as Interrupt Controllers, PCI Controllers, MMUs, I2C devices.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors in CS, EE, (MS preferred) or equivalent technical experience with at least 7 years experience in software development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understand hardware functionality, and software drivers for monitor and control.
• Understand multi-processor high reliable software system architectures.
• Full life-cycle responsibility for embedded software including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Attend meetings, report progress, and interact closely with team members and other teams as required.
SKILLS:
• Strong knowledge of C++ and object oriented design
• Strong knowledge of embedded real-time software architectures and development (VxWorks or LINUX)
• Strong knowledge of 802.3, PoS, GFP, LCAS, SONET/SDH, OTN
• Ability to resolve complex issues that may require design trade-offs.
