Job Description: Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated is seeking a Desk Side Support candidate to fill a requirement at a customer site in Cody, WY. This is an assignment through August 2008 with the possibility of extension.
- Provide desk side support (Hardware/Software Support & Training) on Windows XP
- Diagnose & repair PC's hardware & software
- Manage, troubleshoot , repair HP LaserJet & MFP devices (local & networked)
- In charge of printer warranty repair work through local contracted repair firms
- PC peripheral support (PDA?s, Air cards, etc.)
- Install and test hardware to make sure it is working and identify system hardware problems
- Diagnose problems with software configurations and LAN connectivity issues
- Monitor Remedy database queue and work the calls in accordance within the Service Level Agreement.
- Manage Dell desktops and laptops hardware and perform and schedule all hardware maintenance on pc related equipment
- Setup, configure, and troubleshoot Blackberry devices
- Perform data recovery on failed hard drive
- Educate clients on data loss prevention
- Provide training and support to traveling clients specifically VPN/dial-in training and support
- Actively inventory of Desktops, Laptops, & Printers and verify information is correct in Asset Center and/or LINCS
- New User setup/mentoring for transfer and new-hire employees,
- Scheduling and actual movement of PC's during office moves and setups
- Ad-hoc reporting for local management (PC stock, equipment inventory, etc.),
- Dell Certified is a plus
- Inventory of local expendable supplies (patch cables, monitors, USB cabling, drives, etc.) and work with Houston or Findlay spares to ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
- Enforcement of local policies, calling service desk before work can be completed, management approval for personal printers and monitors, etc.
- Attendance in local safety meetings to ensure compliance with the customer directives.
- Support local setup of conference rooms and projectors, presentations, and Emergency Operations Centers
- Pickup & deploy / Packing & drop-off of all shipped equipment
- Disposal of outdated computer equipment through Redemtech, Inc.,
- Requesting the setup of printer queues and network printers (and record keeping / labeling for client use).
