Job Description:
DESCRIPTION:
Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, modifies and test embedded software for Ethernet networking products or analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, modifies, and test application software for the management of Ethernet based networking equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Typically has BSEE/BSCS
• 5+ years of experience
• Experience with C, Device Drivers, Diagnostics, Embedded Development Tools, and TCP/IP
• Emphasis on Embedded C and RTOS technologies for embedded or experience in the development of web based application software, Java or J2EE technologies for network management.
• Knowledge of microprocessor-based systems and standard RTOS technologies for embedded or knowledge of Object Oriented programming using high-level languages like Java and C++ for network management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Programs and troubleshoots code for firmware (embedded code) applications involving analog and digital hardware and software operating systems or programs and troubleshoots code for application software developed to manage Ethernet based networking equipment.
• Typically programs in machine language, assembly language and high-level languages (e.g., C, C++ for embedded, or Java for Network Management).
• Works with or leads a team of software engineers designing and implementing Ethernet based networking products and Network Management applications.
• Works with Embedded and Network Management System engineers and hardware engineers to provide a cohesive end-to-end product.
• Prepares documentation for architecture, design, and use of the software.
• Able to plan projects and provide work estimates and schedules.
• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

• Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
