Job Description:
DESCRIPTION:
The agent will report to the Sourcing Supervisor and work aggressively hands on within the supply chain, in an extremely fast paced, frequently changing environment. The agent will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating multiple categories of raw materials and finished goods. The individual will collaborate with various business areas to identify sourcing needs and opportunities. The position is responsible for negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, tracking supplier performance (cost, quality, inventory and service).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Four-year bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of medical apparel and/or bed linen products, Formal training in materials management, Manufacturing experience a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop strong supply chain via supplier qualification and quoting processes.
• Negotiate competitive pricing and provide cost analysis of multiple vendors.
• Manage the flow of incoming product.
• Formal evaluation on supplier performance followed by objective feedback.
• Conduct continuous improvement initiatives with top suppliers to reduce costs.
• Create custom reports to support supply chain operations.
• Improve performance via quality enhancements, alternative product analysis and supplier added value services.
• Work with on-site supplier representatives to ensure delivery of quality product that meets both internal and customer specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel not required
