Job Description: DESCRIPTION:
The Solutions Consultant (SC) is responsible for translating our Telecom customers' business and operational requirements into systems solutions. This includes working with customer personnel and executives to identify functional requirements and subsequently leading the design and the implementation of the customer's solution. Must have deep understanding of Telecom industry standards, transport equipment, Network/Device Management and Operations including processes and OSS/BSS software & application integration. The SC will also provide business development support to the Integration Services Practice by evaluating & developing customer opportunities in conjunction with the sales team & direct interface with the customer.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent • 5+ years of systems development and application integration experience in Carrier front/back office (OSS/BSS) environment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and optimize customer EMS solutions with Front/Back Office (OSS/BSS) integrations to complex requirements and business problems through on-site consultation • Overall technical lead for Integration practice providing technical mentoring, training, and supervision to team members. • Supports professional development programs for Integration Consultants via mentoring, coaching, and providing input on performance feedback • Contributes to the development and delivery of technical training materials • Technical lead in highly-visible lab trials, and pilot deployments in support of key marketing and sales activities. • Design new custom application components using object oriented analysis and design methodologies • Analyze, design, and test custom applications to functional and technical programming standards. • Provide technical support from solution conception; to acceptance test; to production support • Coordinate and participate in design walkthroughs • Provide estimates for technical effort. • Provide general technical knowledge on projects/processes in field of expertise.
SKILLS:
• Excellent, demonstrated speaking and writing skills with the ability to communicate at a highly technical level with customers and partners. • Experience in business development & sales support by developing proposals & estimates. • Familiar with iterative approaches to development. • Ability to document service designs • Ability to review designs
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Strong design and programming experience in o JAVA & J2EE Technologies o Web Services (XML, SOAP) o Any RDBMS o Windows & Unix (Solaris, Linux) OS environments (e.g., shell scripting)
