DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for developing and supporting automated test programs in the TestStand and LabView environment for module level manufacturing test processes. Fielding and resolution of general manufacturing engineering issues will also be expected during the course of daily activities. A significant part of the role will include close partnership with R&D engineering during the design phase of new products to provide DFT and DFM analysis and recommendations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with exposure to manufacturing. systems, telecommunications, optics, optical fiber, lasers, and optical electronics.
• Preferred minimum of two plus years experience in electronic or optics based manufacturing.
• Strong background in electronic or optical hardware a plus.
• Computer skills, including programming in one or more languages: Visual Basic, LabView, C++.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use TestStand and LabView to develop Test Programs, Procedures and Documentation.
• Participate in Peer reviews and Process reviews.
• Identify manufacturability and performance problems with product design.
• Identify and resolve technical issues associated with product assembly and testing.
• Provide technical assistance in refining manufacturing and test processes.
• Identify applications of current manufacturing and test technologies to new products.
• Work with the factory to increase production/test efficiency, quality, and yield.
• Evaluation of test data. Identify design related hardware and software problems.
• Identify capital equipment required to support product assembly and testing.
• Provide technical interface between engineering groups and Program Management.
• Perform and coordinate failure analysis on returned products.

SKILLS:

• Must understand quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in developing and debugging complex LabView and Test Stand programs. C++ a plus.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work well with people.
