Job Description:
Master's Degree Purpose: Oversees the utilization of the information and technical resources required for the successful operation of all Sparrow Health System Inpatient and Outpatient Retail Pharmacies. Lead the planning, design, implementation, evaluating and monitoring of a system wide corporate pharmacy plan. ensure Sparrow values are reflected in all aspects of the system-wide process. Duties: Develop short and long term goals for the Health system pharmacies that support and reflect the Health System Strategic Plan in conjunction with the Associates, and the pharmacy system management team. These goals will improve quality, control utilization and contain costs. Develop plans to achieve goals. Responsible for formulating, implementing and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures required to operate system pharmacies, and to meet standards of licensing, accreditation and regulatory requirements. Select, orient, coach, and evaluate the System Pharmacy Management ream and maintain an atmosphere that encourages high preformance and team work in their areas of responsibility within the system. Provide appropriate growth opportunities in area of performance, evaluation, Associate development, conflict resolution, pharmacy practices, business plan development and change process. Oversees the development of standards for implementing pharmaceutical robotics, and identifies automation and information system needs and standards in coordination with the Information Services Division. Leads the preparation of the annual Financial Plan and monitor compliance to the plan in conjunction with Associates and the System Pharmacy Management Team. Assess and analyze systems/practices and their cost effectiveness. Oversee the purchase of medications and pharmaceuticals utilized. Monitors pharmaceutical operating efficiencies and off-contract purchases throughout the system.
