The Community Strategies of Massachusets (CSMA) provides residential and community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The facilities and programs give clients the security and support they need to reach their full potential. Families and the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation are important partners in structuring individual programs to improve living skills and foster independence. For many clients, it's the first time they've been able to live happily and comfortably in the community. That base of support enables clients to develop job skills, receive training and work toward greater self-sufficiency. The Community Strategies is a program of the Community Resources for Justice, a 130-year-old nonprofit human services agency. We have an immediate need for Residential Counselors in Kingston, MA. We have both full-time and part-time availability. Open shifts may include: first, second, and third. The Residential Counselor is an essential part of the smooth operations of our programs. The Residential Counselor will directly assist resident consumers with their day-to-day activitieses, monitor the consumers to insure they are acting within the the range of program and individual guildlines. We offer support and guidance to consumers when needed. Identify and intervene in situations when necessary. Other duties as assigned. All CSMA resident staff are trained and certified in various forms of de-escalation techniques to insure the safety of consumers and staff. Additional Qualifications: We are looking for people who are interested in human services, nursing, psychology, social work, or related fields. Our values include compassion, integrity and listening. Ideally candidates would have experience experience with day-to-day operations of a group home, however, we are offer comprehensive training to all our new hires. Other desirable skills/knowledge: be familiar with the ISP Process, possess good verbal/written skills, knowledge of or willingness to learn the DMR/CRJ requirements/policy and procedures. Be med-certified, PAC, First Aid, CPR certified. A clean driver's license along with a reliable vehicle (in order to get to and from the residence).
