Job Description:
Oversees dental clinic operations, including establishing priorities; evaluating programs; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. Manages assigned clinical staff, including establishing workloads, prioritizing work assignments, evaluating employee performance, interpreting and enforcing policies and procedures, resolving staff issues, and administering disciplinary action as required. Initiates community dental screening and health education programs and coordinates programs with community organizations. Performs the duties of a practicing dentist as required, including evaluating the condition of patients\' teeth; interpreting dental x-rays; diagnosing oral diseases and infections; performing a variety of dental therapies, such as carious teeth restoration, nerve treatment, root canals, oral prophylaxis, and tooth extractions; overseeing the preparation of patients\' records; and consulting with parents concerning the care and condition of children\'s teeth.
