Ensures the audit process is utilized in identifying control weakness and developing recommendations within all operations of the Company. The focus of this service may be on the financial, operational, or information technology issues. Provides regular reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and Senior management on the Company's system of internal controls, significant audit recommendations, status of results of the Audit Plan, the sufficiency of Audit department resources, and investigations into fraudulent activity. Reviews and updates the Audit Committee and Internal Audit charters as necessary. Ensures internal audit methodology is consistently applied and documented. Additionally, maintains audit files by documenting the audit procedures used and each of the audit reports completed. Manages, recruits, and develops a professional audit staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, experience, and professional certifications to meet the Company's audit requirements. Coordinates Internal Audit activities with those of the external auditors to ensure proper audit coverage, elimination of duplication of effort, and improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of audit activities. Where appropriate, provides an independent assessment of business management's view on risk and associated control effectiveness and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of business-risk management processes and program. Benchmarks regularly with peers through various forums. Qualifications include: Experience: 5-7 years auditing experience. Minimum of CIA, CPA preferred. Supervisory Skills: Prior supervisory experience necessary.
