The role: Global Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Advertising As a Global Communications and Public Affairs Manager, you will work closely with other members of the team as well collaborating with a variety of Google employees from Engineers to Product Managers to Executives. Your role will include assuming responsibility for managing people and/or large projects. In addition to demonstrating considerable expertise in specific communications practices, you will also play a pivotal role in guiding more junior team members. Among your many attributes, you have the ability to write a wide variety of communications deliverables, have the skills to manage media inquires for a limited range of issues and have strong experience in dealing with external audiences. You possess the ability to process, understand and explain complex subject matter to both colleagues and outsiders. Responsibilities: Design and implement innovative communications strategies for Google\'s advertising programs. Manage media relations related to legal, policy, product and other corporate issues as well as anticipating risks to Google\'s reputation and brand. Represent Google as a company spokesperson and front-line point of communication to our partners, customers, media, shareholders, and the financial and global communities. Prepare written materials, including press releases, Q&As, executive presentations and speeches as well as managing board-related and regulatory communications. Work closely with key business partners both within and outside the company, including Google\'s executives and key functional leaders. Requirements: Minimum bachelors degree; post-graduate or professional degrees preferred. Minimum 4-6 years professional experience, with a preference for experience managing communications for online or traditional advertising programs or company. Proven communicator - verbal and written. Effective team player who can lead efforts across disciplines. Capable of working calmly and quickly in high-stress environments. Foreign language capability preferred.
