Job Description:
This position will be a key interface to senior management of other functional groups to develop and implement corporate policies & procedures. Position Requirements: Education (minimums) B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Finance CPA or Equivalent Experience Primary Responsibilities Direct General Accounting Functions: Active role in evaluating, developing and implementing new accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes in SEC/GAAP, and SOX 404 requirements Interface with various managers outside accounting to develop internal controls and Operational policies and procedures. Maintain a structured month-end close and reconciliation review process with ultimate goal to complete a month-end close within 5 business days. Direct and supervise general accounting group to affect any changes necessary to improve the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly process. Review all appropriate account analyses and reconciliations of significant balance sheet accounts. Work with IT to maintain integrity of accounting system, inventory and customer information. External Reporting: Responsible for drafting the quarterly and annual reports in line with SEC and U.S. GAAP disclosure requirements including the financial statements, footnotes and Management Discussion & Analysis. Ensure monthly financial results accurately portray current operations and activities. Coordinate auditor, legal and management review of all financial transactions; Other responsibilities: Communication and coordination with other departments (senior management and directors) on various financial issues: work with FP&A on monthly variances to budget, contract administration, forecasting and budgeting. Knowledge & Expertise 10+ years of public and private industry experience with progressively responsible financial management role 3+ years of supervisory experience SEC reporting experience a plus SOX 404 implementation experience a plus Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in the use of spreadsheet programs and other software applications for financial analysis and financial modeling Ability to quickly acclimate to complex financial accounting applications. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to various levels of an organization.
