Monitor office subrogation and salvage results on approved forms. Demonstrate a good knowledge and working interpretation of all coverages impacting the unit and train subordinates in the identification and resolution of particular coverage cases. Recognize questionable coverage situations which require additional management involvement. Train subordinates in proper oral and written communications skills in telephone handling, file and screen posting, and written and dictated letters. Monitor the promptness of subordinates' responses to inquiries. Remain involved in the resolution of complaints. Maintain primary responsibility for training, evaluation and assessment of subordinates. Complete desk reviews, monitor monthly production results, review case dispositions, conduct single signature log review and confirm internal inquiry responses are completed in a timely manner. Write effective, meaningful appraisals on subordinates in the unit. Organize work flow, desk and telephone coverage in the unit to ensure proper customer service Assume subordinates work and desk coverage when necessary during absences. Monitor work delegation within unit. Requirements: Superior working knowledge of all functions of the Claims Representative position and work spectrum as well as a strong knowledge of the various operations within the Claims department. Ability to recognize questionable coverage or contract situation which may necessitate supervisory involvement. Strong oral and telephone communication skills. Licensing required in some states. High School diploma plus 3-5 years of related customer service experience; Associates degree or equivalent plus 1-2 years of experience as a Claims Representative; or 5-7 years of total customer service experience.
