Job Description:
Divisions, conducting performance reviews, mentoring, enforcing policies, resolving grievances, conducting staff meetings, and other Director duties, performing periodic work and project reviews, and hiring, disciplining, and overseeing Department matters;* Conducts duties related to budgeting function, including coordinating with Assistant Finance Director and Assistant City Manager to prepare citywide budget and forecasting model and preparing and monitoring budgets in conjunction with departments and joint venture agencies; * Performs financial analysis and reporting for departments and/or external agencies, including preparing and presenting requested financial analyses, and preparing year end audit and annual comprehensive final reports as needed;* Exercises discretion and supervision over Utility Billing, Municipal Court and Purchasing Divisions;* Administers the Department\'s annual budget and authorizes Department expenditures;* Develops policy and procedures, including conducting related research, implementing new developments, and training personnel on citywide and departmental policies and procedures;* Manages investment and financial decisions, including authorizing purchases, preparing reports, monitoring investment portfolio, and negotiating financing options;* Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems;* Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.
