Major Duties: Major duties and responsibilities include: You will have full administrative and managerial responsibilities for all of the center's engineering programs and shall be considered the expert in one Engineering discipline and competent in most others (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering etc) Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling and coordinating Engineering programs. Administrative and technical advisor to top management and will plan a major role in the development of center policy and program planning. Initiates, shapes and set policies, procedures, standards and goals develops and applies an internal program of management review, appraisal and improvement. Must assure that continuous operation of essential patient services is maintained and rapid response is provided to conditions which may interfere with such services. ***RELOCATION EXPENSES AND/OR INCENTIVES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED*** Qualifications: To qualify for this position, you must meet the following basic requirement: A professional engineering* degree**. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (a) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)*** as a professional engineering curriculum; or (b) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (1) statics, dynamics; (2) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (3) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (4) thermodynamics; (5) electrical field and circuits; (6) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (7) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. ~OR~ A combination of education and experience.
