Job Description:
Responsibilities: Reviews and evaluates roadway segment condition; operates and maintains data for pavement management system; reviews data and recommendations from the system and makes recommendations to the 5-year pavement rehabilitation plan; under supervision, prepares design, specifications, estimates and bid documents for pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction projects; manages small projects of moderate complexity involving the operation of the public street system in Aurora; prepares technical reports; meets and coordinates with other department consultants, government agencies, and utilities companies; monitors construction progress; prepares reports and comments related to roadway maintenance activities; and performs additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or directly related field.Experience: At least 1 year for Engineer or 4 years for Design Engineer of professional engineering work. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of current engineering principles and practices applicable to assigned construction and design function; computer programming languages; computer software including spreadsheets, graphics, and database applications.Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and citizens; present ideas clearly and concisely in oral and written form; ability to review, correct, and recommend solutions to complex engineering plans.
