Job Description:
Where appropriate, conduct value analysis, source development, price forecasting, planning, contracting and supplier negotiations and relations. Interface with supplier executive management on complicated purchasing agreements and issues that affect supplier operations. Provide direction and overall management responsibility for the performance and maintenance of a group of procurement / materials professionals, some of which may be located at offsite operations. Monitor critical industry relations to be aware of capacities, technological enhancements, pricing trends, obsolescence and possible work stoppages. Establish and negotiate procurement cost reductions early in the development and manufacturing process with the respective supplier management to ensure the business objectives are achieved. Maintain a procurement system, including policies and procedures, as well as the purchasing portion of SAP ERP system. Represent SOLON America Corp. in conjunction with the Company's ethical standards and business conduct guidelines. Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging material, parts, services and supplies necessary for operation of SOLON America Corp. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compile information of purchasing metrics, goals and trends to report to senior company management. Develop and maintain a supplier rating system.
