Job Description:
The Corporate Director of Procurement is charged to develop and implement an integrated purchasing strategy, to refine and standardize purchasing systems and procedures, identify opportunities to leverage group volumes, improve vendor management practices, and bring contemporary strategies for material acceleration to the corporation. This is a new role which presents an excellent opportunity to impact the firm\'s performance, to mold a new centralized strategic function, and build an aggressive procurement team. This position reports to the Corporate VP of Operations. This client requires a Bachelors degree, preference given to supply chain/logistics majors, and an MBA or supply chain related Masters. Required experience includes at least 15 years supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment. Although specific commodity experience is not dictated, annual spend experience must exceed $500 mil, and responsibilities must have encompassed multiple sites. The client prefers individuals with experience transforming procurement systems from a decentralized structure to centralized control. Individuals must have experience with driving lean/Six Sigma initiatives to the supply base.
