Job Description:
Hire, train and schedule the pharmacist workforce in assigned area. · Supervise the hiring, training, orientation, scheduling, and education of pharmacy technician staff. · Monitor pharmacist salary structure and compensation package to keep competitive with industry. · Execute a recruitment strategy in cooperation with Field HR personnel for all store pharmacy positions. · Monitor pharmacist medication variances (dispensing errors) for cause and circumstances, and develop corrective action plans and protocols for reducing liability risk. · Implement disease state management protocols along with region/state specific programs. Coordinate the training of personnel and monitor success of programs. · Coordinate with pharmacy category manager and evaluate success of weekly advertising programs. · Monitor pharmacy performance relative to third party contracts with managed care organizations and pharmacy benefit managers. · Implement, evaluate and continually enhance in-store promotions and campaigns. (Health fairs, health screening, flu shots, etc.). · Identify competition for potential prescription file buyout. · Coordinate with the pharmacy category manager the merchandising of categories associated to drugstores but are not stocked by SMS (vitamins, first aid, surgical supplies, skin care, diagnostic kits, home health care, etc.). · Coordinate all aspects of new pharmacy opening requirements (staffing, legal and equipment). · Monitor and ensure competitive prescription pricing and compliance with pharmacy procedures. · Monitor compliance with market share rebate and compliance programs with drug manufacturers. · Review pharmacy sales/profit analysis reports to identify under performing stores.
