Develop and implement new chemical processes: Provides input into the design of phase-appropriate laboratory experimentation in support of both route selection and process definition objectives; provides technical guidance in the implementation of new chemical processes in pilot plant equipment. Key areas of expertise include reaction kinetics, separations, heat transfer, mixing, crystallization, filtration and drying, particle size reduction, data acquisition and control, equipment selection. Provide leadership within team: Serves as a member of multidisciplinary product development teams responsible for the commercial scale development of new bulk chemical processes; directs the activities and development of four or more junior staff members. Communication: Uses various means to document and to communicate results to team members; represents the department on assigned project teams.- Technology: Be a champion for appropriate new technologies, and work with other groups throughout the company to determine applicability, as well as implementation strategies. in Chemical Engineering and 10 years relevant pilot plant experience. BS/MS in Chemical Engineering with at least 20 years relevant pilot plant experience may also be considered. Strong understanding of the effects of scale-up on laboratory technology.
