Job Description:
The incumbent conducts final quality checks of publications, documents, and other material prior to the final release and ensures there are no discrepancies. Key Requirements: U.S. Citizenship Background and/or Security Investigation required. Major Duties: This position is located at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (), Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada. NSAWC is the center of excellence for naval aviation training and tactics development. As a Technical Publications Editor, the incumbent performs technical editing on Navy Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (), publications, Fallon Range Training Complex () User\'s Manual, and numerous other NSAWC publications and courseware. The incumbent also provides advice and guidance on command and Department of Defense publishing standards. Incumbent assures writing style conforms to agency\'s preference and guidelines; uses technical and/or specialized terminology, acronyms, and abbreviations in areas of electronics, weapons, and avionics; verifies unusual classifications and ensures that documents are classified correctly; confirms content using own knowledge, research, and assistance from Subject Matter Experts s); and reviews documents as a whole to ensure consistency and agreement. The incumbent also designs and edits tables from text to provide concise visual presentation of complex material; edits simple graphics and illustrations for consistency and/or updated information; uses high-end computer systems and software; and checks overall presentation readability and meaningful placement.
