Job Description:
In YouthBuild programs, unemployed and undereducated young people ages 16-24 work toward their GED or high school diploma while learning construction skills by building affordable housing for homeless and low-income people. Strong emphasis is placed on leadership development, community service and the creation of a positive mini-community of adults and youth committed to success. The YouthBuild AmeriCorps National Direct Program funds 48 local YouthBuild programs and over 1,700 of its students that serve as AmeriCorps members. The members will build affordable housing, refurbish computers for low-income individuals and community organizations, support local communities through their service, generate community-based volunteers, learn citizenship and leadership skills, and graduate as ethical leaders who become permanent resources for improving our nation\'s poor communities. The Position and its Principle Responsibilities The AmeriCorps Financial Manager is a full time position, reporting to the Director of AmeriCorps.
