This job is responsible for participating in the planning, development and implementation of the Mental Health/Disabilities plans and policies developed in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards. This person acts as coach and trainer for the teaching teams and families support staff as they serve children and families with special needs. Additional Qualifications: Education/Experience: B.A. or B.S in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related social sciences, plus two years of classroom work in an early childhood setting. Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish; be able to advocate effectively in outside settings for children and families.
