Training and Education. Experience with managing Subacute and Psychiatric units helpful. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to: Developing and implementing major plans, policies, and objectives for nursing and all patient care services. Evaluate overall patient care services to assure consistency with objectives and standards and to maintain the highest level of patient care. Approve orientation and in-service training programs for all patient care services. Evaluate the performance of the various patient care service departments and the performance of key managers and supervisors. Encourage and maintain open lines of communication with and between employee groups, medical staff, patients and their family members. Establish the operating budget for all patient care departments, including staffing plans. Monitor and control performance against budget. Establish short and long term recruitment, training, and development plans to meet projected staffing level requirements. Assist in formulating short and long term plans for new or expanded patient care areas. Review all regulatory requirements to ensure compliance. Attend promptly to the administrative details of the position, including the signing of documents, preparation of reports, completion of performance appraisals, and other employee-related actions.
