This position specifically is targeted for business development at Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) Airports . The candidate shall bring his/her aviation contacts and resources to bear on bringing long term client relationships to HNTB. The candidate shall be capable to execute both oral and written presentations and proposals to capture new projects. This specifically will require visiting airport clients to discover what future capital projects will be forth coming from their airports, building client relationships, and also the ability to respond to RFQ\'s and RFP\'s when they are issued by the airport. In the proposal response it is expected that the candidate will assemble sub-consultants or teaming partners to maximize the potential to win the project. The candidate will also be expected to assist in creating a sales plan to capture aviation work in the geographic area, or list of clients he/she is assigned. When PANYNJ projects are not available to pursue or execute the candidate will work on other market sector airport pursuits and projects. Essential Functions Prepare strategic plans for project success. Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. Serves as primary liaison contact with the clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction. Provide oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. May act in a team lead capacity in the absence of the manager. Actively manage client?s budget, schedule and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments. Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts on the most complex projects of the largest magnitude. Coordinate work efforts and review work performed. Provide for quality management. Be a champion for the team. Responsible for hiring, firing, promotion, discipline, performance review, work allocation, training and mentoring of staff. As project loads are balanced across the company and its offices the candidate will be required from time to time to work on airport projects at various locations across the United States. Therefore travel to these locations will be required.
