Job Description:

Responsible for assisting the on-site Media Specialist with checking books in and out; shelving books; assisting students and staff with locating appropriate materials; performing clerical duties; and maintaining audio-visual equipment, computer system and automated card catalog. Also, responsible for supervising students on the playground during recess. Job Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate\'s degree preferred. Within the first year of employment, must successfully complete job-embedded APS professional development program to become highly qualified in compliance with the federal No Child Left Behind Act and to become familiar with APS teaching and learning expectations. Experience: No experience required. Experience with general library use preferred. Skills: Oral and written communication, reading, interpersonal, organizational and personal computer skills. Ability to alphabetize. Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and abilities. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System required.
