Job Description:
Operations Manager is responsible for the technical, cost, and schedule performance of the ISS MSER subsystem hardware and sustaining engineering activities with an annual budget in excess of $20M. The position reports to the ISS MSER Director and will direct, integrate, and manage employees and managers performing engineering and technical activities. The primary responsibilities of the ISS MSER Operations Manager include maintain technical oversight of the ISS MSER subsystem products; act as primary interface with the NASA customer for structures and mechanisms design and analysis, EVA, EVR, and CAD development and analysis; ensure smooth technical performance and coordination with the ISS program on all sustaining tasks through day to day tactical direction; establish co-chairmanship of the ISS S&M, EVA, and EVR System Problem Resolution Teams directly or through delegation; and provide ISS S&M, EVA, and EVR subsystem engineering support to the NASA/JSC Mission Evaluation Room. The candidate requires prior management experience in leading multiple engineering teams. Candidate must have experience in space structures, mechanical systems, engineering design, and engineering analysis. Candidate shall have a minimum of 15 years experience in aerospace programs, with an understanding of Boeing design practices, design standards, analysis tools, and CAD tools. Candidate shall have proven leadership abilities, a great attitude for working with people, and good verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in time management, presentation skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, written and verbal communications, team building, mentoring, facilitation, business acumen, and empowerment.
