Job Description:
Under administrative direction of the Director of Nursing (Public Service Administrator), functions as first line supervisor of professional Nurses at Dixon Correctional Center; provides assistance with implementing and establishing correctional health care policies and procedures for the institution; promotes mutual coordination between the health care staff and other institutional staff; directly responsible for the functions of nursing services.Position #37015-29-93-210-21-01 Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with two years of professional nursing experience; requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois; requires current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification; requires extensive knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice and of recent developments in the field of nursing applicable to the use of assignment; requires working knowledge of teaching methods used in in-service training; requires ability to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships with subordinate staff and other professional staff; requires ability to apply nursing practice in emergency situations or used in therapeutic program; requires ability to interpret professional and administrative rules, regulations and policies to other staff.
