The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.Organization(s): US Army Engineer District, New Orleans, Engineering Div, Design Services Branch, New Orleans, LAAbout the Position: THIS IS A GS-13 EQUIVALENT POSITION The US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, provides for navigation, flood and hurricane protection, environmental stewardship, and other water resources needs to benefit the people of southern Louisiana and the nation. Duty station is New Orleans, LA, a city currently recovering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. The offices are located in a modern energy efficient building in a secure area in the Uptown section of New Orleans on the levee overlooking the Mississippi River. There is a fitness center within the district building. Audubon Park is within walking distance. Key Requirements: U.S. Citizen Major Duties:As Section Chief and advisor to Engineering Division mgmt, plans, coordinates, and supervises the activities of professional and technical employees engaged in accomplishing section functions. Develops schedules, plans the accomplishment of the section's workload, and establishes deadlines and sets priorities. Previews and assigns incoming work to personnel giving due consideration to difficulty and requirements of assignments.
