My client is one of the world's most recognized names in the metals business and has an outstanding opportunity for a Maintenance & Engineering Manager for the Operations organization at their Spokane plant. My client annually produces several hundred million pounds of aluminum coiled sheet, flat sheet, and plate for worldwide markets in the aerospace, ground transportation and general engineering industries. The facility is currently undergoing a major expansion to meet growing customer demands. Duties/ResponsibilitiesIndividual will be responsible for leading the Maintenance & Engineering team for the Operations organization. Will provide leadership to the plant's Maintenance and Engineering staff. Should have a hands-on approach and expect to ensure the reliability of the equipment within the facility. Should be comfortable with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, setting up Preventive Maintenance programs and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include the supervision and development of the staff (both Union hourly and salaried), scheduling downtimes, budgets for all maintenance including plant and grounds, and scheduled maintenance. RequirementsBachelors Degree in Engineering or Technical area.Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy industry and managing in a unionized environment.7-10 years experience managing and supervising staff both at the unionized hourly level and salaried level. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.Ability to demonstrate a track record of adding value. Experience: See Job Description.
