The Senior Medical Director also has a primary role in interacting with regulatory authorities, both in helping direct strategy, preparation of key regulatory documents, and representing Astellas in meetings. Position Requirements The qualified candidate must have significant pharmaceutical development experience and/or knowledge of the therapeutic area. The candidate must demonstrate an ability and willingness to handle multiple projects, outside their therapeutic area if necessary, and to work independently on assigned projects. The candidate may also possess experience in laboratory and/or clinical research, demonstrating a track record of designing experiments/trials, interpreting scientific data and taking projects to completion. Specific Requirements: M.D. degree, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Designated Specialty Minimum three years clinical experience Minimum two years laboratory or clinical research experience and five years experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent academic experience. Strong working-knowledge of regulatory procedures and guidelines (preferably US) Effective team player in a matrixed R&D environment Able to work independently on all aspects of assigned projects Excellent presentation and writing skills Excellent organizational skills This position is currently accepting applications.
