Director of Facilities Engineering Description The Director of Facilities Engineering is a key position focused on the long term scaling strategy of Amazon\'s Operations organization in driving reliability and uptime across the organization. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the Amazon facilities engineering team to world class levels of safety, uptime, reliability and reliability. The primary responsibilities for the Director of Facilities Engineering include: Lead facilities to world class safety performance. Drive world class preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime Develop and maintain SME level knowledge for technology trends, safety and maintenance practices. Develop a predictive maintenance (reliability) program to maximize equipment uptime Drive the adoption of Lean in facilities practices. Develop a TPM program for Amazon facilities. Develop clear business driven metrics to track facilities performance Drive consistency of process, training, and reporting across functional teams. Develop world class training program for facilities technicians. Qualifications Basic qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent Master preferred 10+ years experience managing groups that provide diverse facilities/engineering support. Multi site experience is critical. Knowledge of mission-critical facilities infrastructure requirements, including interpretation and application of building codes and working knowledge of building codes and safety standards including OSHA, NFPA, NEC,UBC, and others as applicable Leadership, people-management skills.
