Job Description:
Title : Chief Engineer Flight Hardware Location: Houston, TX Job Description: This is a team ESCG position with Hamilton Sundstrand. Serve as Avionics, Robotics, and Power Analysis Group/4200 Chief Engineer for flight hardware processes, reporting to group deputy director. Responsible for oversight of multiple key projects across the entire project life cycle. Assist group deputy director, section managers, and project teams in establishing and enforcing a disciplined approach to and strategic vision for flight hardware processes across the group. Ensure best practices are implemented across all development projects within the group. Provide mentoring to project teams. Ensure consistent adherence to flight hardware development and certification processes. Work closely with group deputy director to establish training requirements for the group. Foster strong environment of teamwork across all sectors of the ESC contract. Provide technical insight and oversight for principal programmatic reviews as needed. Perform other duties as required. Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university and may be expected to have a related master's degree. Requires 15 years of related experience; strongly prefer at least 10 years experience in hardware development and processing projects. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated team-oriented approach is required. Strong problem-solving capability and analytical skills are required. Familiarity with NASA flight hardware/GFE design, development, certification and sustainment processes and standards highly desired. Early and mid-career exposure to and contributions in hardware development, engineering analysis, and production is strongly desired. Special emphasis on complex systems used in support of human spaceflight and early developmental phases desired. Must be able to receive and maintain a DoD security clearance.
