Job Description:

General Position Description: Responsible to the Deputy Executive Director for Operations for direction and leadership of the Infrastructure Division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Provides strategic direction for Infrastructure Division staff, the Department's Capital Program (development, improvement, repair, and conservation programs) and oversees the management of major construction contracts/projects. Primary responsibility is managing programs and staff responsible for ensuring that all Texas Parks and Wildlife Department facility repair, improvement and development needs are identified and projects are completed within a reasonable time frame and budget. This includes all state parks, wildlife management areas, historic sites, natural areas, field offices, fish hatcheries, and administrative buildings. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures. Working Conditions: (1) Normal work schedule of 8-hour work days, Monday through Friday, with extended work hours frequently necessary; (2) Considerable in-state travel and occasional out-of-state travel; (3) Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles; (4) Required to work one weekend per year for the annual Texas Wildlife EXPO. NOTES: All Candidates Will Be Considered. EOE; Salary may increase based on candidate's qualifications Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Preferred Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Civil Engineering. Experience: (1) Eight years of progressive responsible broad based management level experience, providing knowledge and skills relevant to leading and administering a significant construction, repair and improvement program in the public or private sector; (2) Experience in total quality management, team building, project management and public speaking. Note: Experience may have occurred concurrently. License/Certifications: N/A. Preferred License/Certification.
