Job Description: -- Initiating: Ensures all needed cross-functional groups are represented on the core project team. Identifies project stakeholders and their roles. Works collaboratively with management, business representatives, and the team to clearly define and achieve mutual understanding of the project scope. Negotiates phase and deliverable reviews to provide adequate visibility and gauge progress and quality.
-- Planning: Plans for the involvement of identified stakeholders and the management of project data. Establishes and maintains a formal, approved document used to manage and control the execution of the project based on the defined project scope. Develops a top-level work breakdown structure (WBS) based on the product architecture to help gauge the project work effort in terms of tasks, roles and responsibilities. Identifies the work packages in sufficient detail to specify estimates of project tasks, sequence and responsibilities to develop the project schedule with assigned resources. Leads project team in identifying cost budgeting, quality, communications, and risk management planning.
-- Execution, Tracking and Control: Effectively coordinates the activities of the project team based on familiarity with solution scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. Manage project schedule and task details utilizing project management tools such as Microsoft, Computer Associates, and HP toolsets. Manages proposed changes to project parameters and changes to original project plan. Effective communication skills both verbal and written. Monitors progress, identifies variances, performs required corrective actions and communicates project information to appropriate stakeholders.
-- Closeout: Manages the handover of project deliverables from the team to the customer and any supporting groups. Conducts a project review to capture lessons learned to pass along to future projects.
Job Requirements: -- Proficient in project planning, organizing, team motivation and delegation. -- Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail. -- Understanding and experience with related business and development processes. -- Knowledge of technical issues involved with the projects deliverables. -- Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines in an ever changing environment. -- Proficiencies in various disciplines related to Application Development, Infrastructure rollouts, and Business Process Re-engineering. -- Knowledgeable with bidirectional software interfaces. -- Experience with enterprise-level span of impact. -- Strong Experience with multi-tasking in parallel with multiple projects. -- Strong Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -- Preferences: * 3 years Experience with State of Texas agencies. * 2 years Proficiencies in Retirement and Investment programs. * 1 years Effectively communicate at all levels in all departments, including senior executives. * 1 years High degree of flexibility and high tolerance of ambiguity. * Certification Project Management Professional certification (PMP).
