Job Description:
Maintenance & Engineering Manager The Maintenance & Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance & installation of all plant equipment and facilities according to corporate standards, and to provide quality at an economical cost. Supervises department, engineering supervisors and mechanics in their day-to-day responsibilities. Principal Responsibilities: Supervise entire Engineering operation and Engineering staffDirect resources of plant to efficiently maintain the building, property and equipment.Coordinate with Sanitation to ensure plants and equipment meet regulatory requirements for cleanliness and product safetyEstablish best practices to achieve company standards on controllable costsEnsure all plant preventative maintenance programs comply with accepted and approved corporate regulations.Promote safety through work procedures, and employee safety programsEnsure that all union contractual obligations are fulfilled. Manage all aspects of capital projects for the plant, i.e. Gantt Charts, Spending, etc. Requirements: Minimum of five years engineering management experience in a comparable food manufacturing environmentCollege degree preferredCompletion of AIB Engineering Residence course preferredLean or Six Sigma preferred.Thorough understanding of commercial high speed food manufacturing equipment and a interactive working knowledge of the affiliated departments such as Production, Sanitation, Shipping, Accounting, and Purchasing.Ability to trouble shoot equipment to ensure optimum product quality is achievedUnderstanding of cost accounting, budgets and profit and loss responsibility.
