This position, located in Houston, is for a Notebook Mass Storage Commodity Core Team Leader. We are looking for a highly motivated individual whose primary focus will be on leading a team responsible for supporting the Mobile Notebook GBU business requirements via commodity supplier selection, component evaluation and development planning while balancing; speed of execution, quality, price, availability, schedule, technology and innovation. The team consists of representatives from Marketing, Procurement, Engineering, Procurement Engineering and System Development. The team works with the commodity suppliers and our System Development Partners to support the HP Notebook roadmap requirements. The main deliverable is a business plan (Commodity Qualification Matrix) that comprehends system and supplier schedules, price targets and supports availability and quality goals. Primary responsibilities are: Set and drive the Core Team Agenda Notebook roadmap Support Development schedule support Quality Reviews Demand/Supply Reviews Supplier Technology Reviews Manage discussion and facilitate consensus Drive implementation of core team decisions Assign/track action items Document decisions and generate minutes Drive Commonality/Consistency across platforms Drive initiatives within the core team Sample Support process Quality management Complexity management Optimize In Cycle and Out of Cycle qualifications. Ensure that risk assessment and mitigation planning is an integral part of the Core Team decisions. Maintain industry knowledge of new technology.
