Job Description:
DESCRIPTION:
General hardware (digital and analog) design with an emphasis on microprocessor and FPGA design.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• BSEE/CS or equivalent experience
• 4+ years direct hardware design experience
• 2+ years CAD tool experience to include schematic capture and FPGA/ASIC development tools. VIEWlogic, PADS PCB preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Board level designs including digital and analog subsections using schematic entry tools
• PLD, CPLD and FPGA logic design and simulation
• Bench testing of new designs including breadboarding and prototyping.
• Provide complete documentation throughout product design phase.
• Interfacing with Software development, Manufacturing/Test, and System Engineering teams during design and development phase
SKILLS:
• Logic design up to 100 MHz. with an emphasis on microprocessor based subsystems incorporating CPLDs and FPGAs.
• At least 2 years of design experience with PLD/CPLD/FPGA design using synthesis tools with AHDL, VHDL, or Verilog hardware description languages.
• Use of standard bench level test equipment as well as logic analysis tools
• Familiarity with digital and analog communication methods including RS232/485, T1, Ethernet, DS3, SONET, and ATM.
• Commercial/Telecom design experience
• Programming experience in Basic, C, C++, and/or assembly languages preferred
