Job Description: DESCRIPTION:
Project coordination and relationship building with major customers. Work directly with customers to translate operational requirements into structured and executable tasks, milestones or processes under the supervision of a Senior Program Manager. Facilitate communication between customer operational groups and Company to meet customers' needs. Builds and maintains long-term strategic relationships. Occasional travel to customer sites either domestically or internationally.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• BS in computer science, engineering, business, telecommunications management or related fields • Industry experience or equivalent in the areas of project management, program management, customer service, telephony or high speed data communications is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Document and communicate customer needs, project status, situations and resolutions. • Develop and orchestrate carefully designed and approved action plans to successfully complete projects. • Facilitate frequent meetings and conference calls between relevant customer operational groups and corporate groups. • Identify resource requirements to complete commitments on time and on budget. • Act as a clearinghouse for all aspects of customer requirements and operational contacts. • Assures all parties in close communication regarding project status and milestones. • Responds to emergencies via telephone or in person and gets proper resources assigned to problems. • Develops and tracks metrics related to our equipment or service performance with customers.
SKILLS:
• Strong communication skills: written and in formal presentations • Project management skills in keeping projects on schedule and assuring all relevant parties are informed on progress or issues • Demonstrate skills in desktop applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project planning software • Negotiation skills essential
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Team player, organized, self-motivated and capable of independent work • Multi-tasking: able to manage many aspects of the account simultaneously. • Able to negotiate with both the customer and with internal resource owners • Ability to learn and grasp technical concepts in fiber optic or high speed data communications
