Job Description:
DESCRIPTION:

Duties to include design and support of hardware development in detailed 3D modeling and documentation of product offerings for newly introduced and existing telecommunication equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mechanical design of new products and upgrades of existing products
• Mechanical cad tool development, implementation, and maintenance
• Manufacturing, procurement, configuration and materials support for existing products
• Sustain current product-lines through component obsolescence and cost reduction tasks

EDUCATION:

• Degree in mechanical engineering
• 7 years of design and production experience in packaging of electronic equipment

SKILLS:

• Must possess strong knowledge and experience with Pro/Engineer mechanical software design packages; specifically Wildfire 2.0 build code and Pro/Intralink 3.4 mechanical database
• Must have strong background in thermal simulation and prediction of forced and natural convection scenarios in electronic packaging
• Must have experience in thermal modeling using Flotherm (or related) software package
• Must have strong background in electronic packaging including thermal design, cable management, and EMI/EMC design considerations
• Must have strong background in sheet metal and machined part design
• Must have experience with resolving production issues with domestic and off-shore contract manufacturer’s
• Must have experience with configuration management of product data and bill of materials implementation
• Experience with machined and molded plastic mechanical components
• Experience in production methods for telecommunication products
• Good problem solving techniques, communication, and leadership skills
