Job Description:
Conducts patient consultation, evaluation, program planning, and treatment to restore function, relieve pain, promote healing, prevent disability and/or facilitate adaptation to permanent disability. Reviews patient referrals and medical records. Contributes to performance improvement and quality management tasks. Actively participates in professional organization. Participates in the cross-training program, demonstrating competencies in at least two different services or through attainment of specialty certification. Attends continuing education programs. Exceeds the standard productivity measures established for the year.In addition, spends time on these advanced job duties:Plans, organizes and coordinates one or more programs within the department. Serves as a consultant to the staff in area of clinical expertise. Mentors new clinical instructors or employees. Assesses clinical competency of staff and performs performance evaluations. Interviews prospective employees. Participates in budget and strategic planning of programs. MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS:Other duties as required.SUPERVISION: Received: General supervision by the Director and Manager, Rehabilitation Services. Clinical supervision by Manager, Rehabilitation Services. Medical supervision for individual patients from the referring and/or attending physician. Given: Direct supervision of Physical Therapists, Senior Physical Therapists, assistants, technicians, aides and students.
