Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Traffic Safety Specialist to join its growing offices in Raleigh, NC, McLean, VA, or Silver Spring, MD. Qualified candidates must have a BS in Civil Engineering or a related field with 10-15 or more years experience in transportation safety. An MS degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferable. Candidates must have knowledge and experience in traffic engineering, highway safety, traffic and pedestrian safety, geometric design, statistics, and project management. Experience with corridor studies, the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), and crash data analysis are beneficial.
Responsibilities will include providing senior level technical expertise to highway safety projects and safety team staff, reviewing and/or leading large safety studies, and securing safety-related work, particularly with State and local agencies.
The successful candidate should be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple task assignments. Strong oral presentation, communication, and writing skills are absolutely essential for this position.
